July 2026 | Baldwin Aerospace Completes Testing Campaigns for Matsys, Inc. and Advanced Ceramics Manufacturing (ACM)
Baldwin Aerospace is pleased to announce the successful completion of initial commercial high-enthalpy material testing campaigns for Matsys, Inc. and Advanced Ceramics Manufacturing (ACM). Utilizing the proprietary RDMS X-Jet arcjet facility, the team executed a series of extreme plasma environment exposures. The campaign featured extended run times approaching and exceeding six minutes, alongside critical thermal and structural evaluation runs on test articles. These tests provided high-fidelity empirical data on material response and thermal protection performance under simulated re-entry flow conditions. Successfully completing these campaigns in under a month total is a significant accomplishment for Baldwin Aerospace. It demonstrates the reliability and rapid turnaround capability of the RDMS X-Jet for advanced ultra-high-temperature material validation.
Baldwin Aerospace continues to expand operational availability for commercial and research partners, with new clients already in contract for the next testing window slated for August 2026 through January 2027.
July 2025 | Baldwin Aerospace Takes Delivery of Custom Vacuum Chamber, Initiates On-Site Facility Assembly
Following a year of intensive engineering, design, and fabrication planning, Baldwin Aerospace has officially taken delivery of its custom vacuum chamber at the Redwood City facility. The arrival of this core pressure vessel marks the end of the initial planning phase and officially kicks off on-site mechanical and structural assembly for the RDMS X-Jet testing platform.
Custom-engineered to accommodate high-enthalpy plasma flows and extended thermal exposure runs, the vacuum chamber serves as the central integration point for the facility’s pumping stack, power systems, sample stingarms, and arcjet torch interface. With the vessel now positioned, the engineering team has transitioned directly into installing vacuum plumbing, utility connections, and diagnostic instrumentation as the Redwood City site moves closer to operational readiness.

January 2025 | Baldwin Aerospace Secures $250,000 to Begin Construction on Redwood City Arc Jet Facility
Baldwin Aerospace, has officially broken ground on its new high-enthalpy testing facility in Redwood City, California. The expansion is funded through investment from RapidAxis Capital, the Pogonip Holding Company USA, private donors, and a combination of internal company investment. This capital push directly supports site buildout, specialized power and plumbing infrastructure, and the assembly of Baldwin's proprietary RDMS X-Jet testing system. The Redwood City site is designed to meet growing demand for accessible, high-fidelity aerothermal testing and material evaluation under simulated atmospheric entry conditions. Combining external backer support with direct internal investment positions Baldwin Aerospace to rapidly transition from facility construction to initial subsystem calibration and operational testing.
